The Earliest Recorded Public Garden Fountains of Human History

The water from rivers and other sources was originally supplied to the residents of nearby communities and cities through water fountains, whose design was mainly practical, not aesthetic. To produce water flow through a fountain until the end of the 1800’s, and produce a jet of water, demanded the force of gravity and a water source such as a spring or reservoir, located higher than the fountain. Inspiring and spectacular, large water fountains have been built as memorials in many cultures. When you see a fountain at present, that is certainly not what the 1st water fountains looked like. The Romans began creating ornate fountains in 6 B.C., most of which were metallic or stone masks of wildlife and mythological characters.
